I SEE MYSELF is an intimate portrait of friendship, memory, and the strange distance between who we believe we are and how the people who love us see us.

Ryan and Olivia have been best friends since they were teenagers. Now, separated by distance but never really apart, they spend their days talking about everything and nothing, sex, art, films, love, insecurity, and the small absurdities of being alive. They are each other’s confidants, critics, therapists, and, above all, witnesses.

When Ryan decides to make a film about Olivia, he attempts to capture the person he has known and loved for years. But when she finally sees his version of her, she doesn't recognise herself.

What follows is a quiet conversation about identity and perception, and the uncomfortable question of whether anyone can ever truly know another person.
